Make
your Web site stand out!
| Not too long ago, all
you needed to do to get traffic to your Web site was to build one. There weren't
many sites out there.
Times have changed! There are now more than 5000 million sites—or about six sites for each person on the Internet—so you have to do something to make your site visible. Naples Network can assist you with the marketing of your site—both online and off. We can create and initiate an effective online campaign to generate traffic—or we can create a complete, integrated marketing campaign that accesses a variety of media beyond the Internet. This campaign can be handled solely by Naples Network or in tandem with your current marketing communications, public relations, or advertising group—to raise the awareness and branding of your online presence. If you're serious about using the 'net to do business—whether it's marketing, customer service, online commerce, or a mix of all three—you want to make sure there are people ready to come in when you open your "virtual" doors. Otherwise, you'll never see the return on your investment. And, imagine trying to explain that at the next board meeting. Don't trust your online marketing initiatives to just anyone. Naples Network has experienced professionals that will work with your company to attract your target audiences. We know what methods are proven, which are outdated, and what the cutting-edge of online marketing is. But, more importantly, we know what will work for your site, your organization, and your audience. If We build it, they will come...but let them know you're there—and make it worth their while.
It is important to note that these listings must be maintained on an ongoing basis to ensure that the site remains easily locatable. Much like a traditional media schedule, placements must be made in each search tool as if they were publications. If an ad is not running in a publication, there is no exposure. If a listing within a particular search engine expires and is not refreshed, the site will not be found. Another growing and searchable database, "Snap" for example, requires a user to submit and/or update their information a minimum of every 90 days or their listing will be dropped. As more and more web sites are created, the database portions of search engines and searchable databases become increasingly overloaded. The "solution" to keeping search engine database size reasonable (which makes the return of search results more accurate and rapid) is to periodically purge the database. Although there is no official guideline offered by any of the search engine/searchable database maintainers as to when and why a listing may be dumped, it is reasonably safe to say that a listing has an approximate shelf life of 1 to 3 months. If existing listings are not refreshed, and new listings are not submitted to newly developed search tools, the site will not be easily found over time. Therefore, maintenance of search engine listings is an ongoing process. Special consideration goes into creating a site that will be easily located in a search. Listings must be kept fresh and new criteria learned in order to harness the power of each search area; updates and revisions made to HTML documents so that they receive maximum exposure within search areas is of major importance to the process. ![]()
